February Newsletter: 30 Innovators Pitch at IMPEL's Recent Workshops

February 5, 2021

While the community of building technologists is relatively small and specialized, the range of innovative projects and applications in the field is vast. IMPEL's 2021 Innovators are a reflection of this diversity, pitching projects such as Kyoung Hee Kim of EcoClosure's microalgae window retrofitting to improve indoor air quality, to Adam Landsman of PulseIQ's use of data analytics to optimize building performance, to Tommy Gibbons of Hempitecture's hemp-based, sustainable building insulation, just to name a few examples. IMPEL+ Innovators also come from different TRLs, as some pitch nascent ideas at the R&D stage, while others hone pitches for products already receiving revenue.

However, IMPEL+ Innovators are resoundingly unified when asked to describe their experience in our workshops.

Focused. Intense. Challenging. Impactful. Recommended.

Take the IMPEL+ challenge and apply to our final workshop of the year on March 12, 2021 (deadline is February 15). Since December of last year, thirty Innovators were selected to participate in our day-long, virtual pitch coaching workshops. Each Innovator came prepared to craft and deliver a pitch that could bring in a potential partner, funder, collaborator, or new member to their teams. By the end of the day, they were given specific and actionable feedback, an expanded network of like-minded technologists and entrepreneurs, and ideas to approach their next milestone.
